Urgh, no, that's not for me, just not practical for my usecases.
This was a real difficult decision for me as well. I wanted to try something outside the norm, like a OnePlus phone. Of course, phones are so expensive and marketed as disposable. So, despite not liking the "contract" option, I got an Essential Phone. It does not have an audio jack either, but the USB-C adapter works great. I've got no problems with it.
