I'm not judging, because I think they're right, they need to refocus back to something else and not go the Ads revenue row like everybody else because it's a dead end for them.
But this reminds us that even the most promissing companies will need to refocus and you always should own your own content on your own domain so you don't lose the URLs to your articles.

Also that employees are worth shit. Just fire them on the go. Its all about the profit for the owners.

"In terms of momentum, 2016 was our best year yet. Key metrics, such as readers and published posts were up approximately 300% year on year." Why would you feel no moral obligation when things are going great for your company? Why is bottomless greed not frowned upon?
I guess the key metric for retaining staff is profit. I guess that one is not in the list above for a reason.
